MCAPP’s work is guided by its strategic plan and sustainability plan (3/27/27).
Program goals and priorities focus on:
Primary Prevention Education to build a culture of safety and prevent child sexual violence.
Advocacy: Develop capacity to bring about change in public and private policies which support primary prevention education.
Evaluation, outcomes & impact: Demonstrate effectiveness & positive impact.
Primary Prevention Education, Since 2013, MCAPP has established vital relationships with teachers and administrators at all Molokai schools (Kaunakakai, Kilohana, Kualapuu, and Moanaloa Elementary Schools; Molokai Middle and High Schools; Akaula Charter School; and Molokai Economic Opportunity, Head Start Pre-school). Consistent, competent delivery of primary prevention education (PPE) increased the importance of prevention, and earned MCAPP permission to provide PPE during regular classroom time.
The MCAPP team teaches culturally relevant, evidence-based prevention curricula:
RESPECT sexual violence prevention curriculum to middle and high school students,
My Body My Boundaries, and My Body is Special to elementary school students.
Community Engagement Goals are:
Building community support: Increasing MCAPP’s presence and connections within communities to sustain prevention awareness and skills.
Increasing understanding about MCAPP’s purpose and increasing prevention partnerships.
