MCAPP is a Molokai-based 501(c)3 non-profit with the mission: To keep children safe and support ‘ohana wellbeing through primary prevention education.” MCAPP has provided prevention education in Molokai’s communities since 2013; non-profit status became effective in 2016.
The island of Molokai is home to generations of `ohana (families) who continue to demonstrate courage and resilience in the face of historic colonial oppression. Trans-generational trauma, disruption of once successful indigenous social and economic systems, and geographic isolation are among many factors influencing disproportionately high incidence of sexual violence, neglect and abuse of children and families.
MCAPP envisions Molokai as a place: “Where happy, healthy children and families is everyone’s kuleana (responsibility).”
We invite you be a partner in keeping Molokai’s children and families safe. Mahalo for caring!
